The smallStories Project
Co-author books with smallTalk and bring your voice, language, and culture to children around the world!
What are we looking for?
smallTalk is looking for parent authors & illustrators to co-create books with us as a part of our language introduction system for babies and toddlers. Our goal is to impart authentic language and cultural essence, which is why these books will exclusively be written in the author’s native language.
You do not need to possess any formal training or experience as an author or illustrator. Part of the process is a short tutorial to help you develop an age-appropriate piece.
Requirements
The books created in the smallStories project will be part of smallTalk’s language introduction program for babies and toddlers. Each smallStory should be roughly 10 – 12 pages and will be printed as a board book.
We are currently prioritizing Spanish and English, however, we are accepting applications for any language. You can apply as an author, illustrator, or both. We will work to pair authors and illustrators together as part of the project.
